Ironton City Charter was adopted by the voters
on June 3rd, 1980. It became effective on July 4, 1980.
The Charter provides for a Mayor-Council type of government.
It also gives information on the city council, mayor,
and qualifications and powers of each. Click

The
Ironton Fire Department provides 24 hours a day 7 days
a week fire protection to the City of Ironton.
The
Ironton Police Department serves the City of Ironton,
providing police protection 24 hours a day, 365 days
a year. The Department consists of a Chief, a Detective,
patrol officers, and dispatchers.
