is the Mission of the City of Ironton Government to
assure all citizens a better quality of life by providing

clean environment and economic development while being
fiscally responsible.

Ironton City Charter was adopted
by the voters on June 3rd, 1980. It became effective
on July 4, 1980. The Charter provides for a Mayor-Council
type of government. It also gives information on the
city council, mayor, and qualifications and powers of

The
Ironton Fire Department provides 24 hours a day 7 days
a week fire protection to the City of Ironton.
The
Ironton Police Department serves the City of Ironton,
providing police protection 24 hours a day, 365 days
a year. The Department consists of a Chief, a Detective,
patrol officers, and dispatchers.
